The
most common examples of pests people often give are rats, termites
and cockroaches. However, there are more uncommon insects that live
within areas that can be considered pests depending on that region.
The boxelder bugs, for example, are common to North American states.
They could deal some serious damage to many properties, and are often
subject to pest control.
Boxelder
bugs are not known to carry diseases nor do they necessarily infest
houses as they prefer living in trees. However, they are considered
troublesome when they do enter the household, as they usually exhibit
a foul-smelling odor when crushed. These bugs are also known to eat
off of leaves and fruits, effectively destroying plants in houses and
gardens, on top of excreting colored fluids that may stain fabric and
cloth. Infestation of the said insects usually happens during warm
seasons. Extermination process of boxelders commonly involve the
removal of the boxelder tree, but if that is too dire a solution for
the property owner, vacuuming should also work.
To
be safe, however, it is always the best idea to rely on professional
and reliable exterminators to deal with the pest problem. With their
knowledge and experience of dealing with different kinds of pests,
they should have the means and tools to provide a solution for your
home infestation problem for your soonest convenience.
